My first novel was subtitled "A Novel of Forgiveness," and the theme continues to run through my work. I have a couple ideas that might work for the anthology. One is how, through weekly phone conversations I've come to a place of forgiveness and love for my father, a compulsive gambler whose behavior shook, rattled and rolled our home and lives as my sisters and I grew up. What helped me come to this point? LISTENING TO HIS STORIES, mostly of serving in WWII, and coming to know the man behind the disease of addiction. The other is my journey to self forgivenss for not having put the same effort into knowing my mother before her passing from complications of Parkinsons. Interested? Hello, Mike.
